RSL Care Donations & Bequests

Donations and Bequests to RSL Care have played a significant role in our history. Our first gift was in 1936 when philanthropist and prominent businessman, George Marchant, kindly donated a large residence – ‘Kingshome’ in suburban Brisbane. His generosity enabled the provision of a peaceful and dignified home to 64 war veterans.

Thousands of Ageing Australians have looked to RSL Care to guide them to make the most out of life. Donations and Bequests provide us with additional funds which enable us to provide support beyond our core HomeCare, Retirement Living and Residential Aged Care services to members of the community.

RSL Care’s history that began with the establishment of the RSL QLD War Veterans’ Homes Trust created to support the Ex-Service community. Since the opening of our first veterans’ hostel in 1938 we’ve grown to offer a wide range of services, across a portfolio of HomeCare, Retirement Living and Residential Aged Care options.

While we serve the broader community and welcome all older Australians, we will always be here to support the health and wellbeing of our ex-service men and women through a strong association with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Through this growth we’ve also expanded our capacity to support the broader community and we welcome every older Australian who chooses the benefits of our services. Our proud beginnings continue with the Trust. As a not-for profit organisation, our charitable status remains at the centre of our strategic framework and supports our operation as a charity and a public benevolent institution.

We invite you to support the important work of RSL Care with a tax-deductible donation or a Bequest in your Will.
