RSL Care Moreton Shores Retirement Community is a state-of-the-art development located in Thornlands, a popular retirement haven on the edge of Moreton Bay, just 40 minutes from Brisbane.
Catering for the changing needs of seniors, when all stages of construction are complete at Moreton Shores, the community will comprise 156 independent living villas with resort style facilities including heated pool and spa, barbeque are and a community hall and a 120 bed aged care facility accommodating low, high and secure dementia care needs.
Stage one independent living at Moreton Shores, comprising 52 villas, opened in August 2007. A 60 bed aged care facility is currently under construction and is expected to be complete mid 2008.
Prices and plans for stage two independent living will be released in February 2008. Expressions of interest are currently being accepted.

A state of the art 120-bed aged care facility will be located on site at Moreton Shores Retirement Community and will provide accommodation for those needing low, high and dementia care. low care and special care (dementia) accommodation.
HomeCare:
RSL HomeCare is all about supporting independence, helping people stay at home in their community for as long as possible.
Our team of community nurses, trained carers and volunteers work with clients and their families to design and deliver tailored assistance package that meet each client's health and lifestyle needs.
From personal care, domestic assistance and meal preparation to community nursing, home based respite and transportation, the flexibility of HomeCare assistance means that as needs change so too can the type of assistance provided.

You can receive RSL HomeCare through referral made by a medical practitioner or self referral. Costs vary depending on each individual's eligibility for government funded programs. These services usually require a minimal co-payment, however if clients are financially disadvantaged, co-payments may be reduced or waived. Those who don't meet the eligibility criteria are still able to obtain HomeCare services on a fee-for-service basis.
THE LOCATION
Moreton Shores Retirement Community is located on approximately 24 hectares of land at the edge of Moreton Bay. Significant features include:
- The preservation of habitat and corridors for native fauna with a focus on the retention of koala food trees
- Dedication of approximately 40 per cent of the site to open space and nature conservation
- Retention and enhancement of a creek that runs through the property - featuring watercourses and three bodies of water for wetland fauna
- The establishment of a pedestrian and cycle path along the esplanade
