Carrington Retirement Community, located in the suburb Parkinson, on Brisbane's south side is only 8 minutes from Sunnybank Hills shopping centre and is within walking distance of the local shopping complex.

The retirement community has a relaxed feel and a strong sense of spirit, with an active staff, volunteers and a social committee ensuring regular activities and outings.

The community incorporates a large recreation room known as 'the Venue', a separate library, billiards room and hairdresser's room, plus parkland with walking tracks close by. The solar-heated pool and spa area, complete with sweeping views, is perfect for a Sunday BBQ.

Carrington Retirement Community incorporates 63 independent villas and 9 three bedroom houses. There is also a residential care facility catering for low , high and special dementia care residents.

The community has been fully accredited by the Retirement Village Association of Australia.

KEY SERVICES

High care accommodation
Available for residents requiring a high level of care, both twin share and single rooms available, emergency call system, air-conditioning, over bed lighting, television aerial connection and en-suite.
Low care accommodation:
Available for residents requiring a low level of care, the facility provides suites with private outdoor areas, share kitchen, furnished lounge and TV area. Each private suite is furnished with bedroom furniture and linen, emergency call system, en suite, a ceiling fan and heater.
Special care:
Special care is available in our Cottage for residents experiencing dementia related conditions. This Cottage is a secure environment with a private garden and pergola setting.
Retirement living villas:

There are 65 one, two and three bedroom villas, and 9 houses. The units are Resident (Equity) Funded and are available by way of a Loan and License agreement.

All independent villas are of high quality, represent excellent value and are architecturally designed to meet the special needs of retirees.

HomeCare:

RSL HomeCare is all about supporting independence, helping people stay at home and in their community for as long as possible.

Our team of community nurses, trained carers and volunteers work with clients and their families to design and deliver tailored assistance packages that meet each client's health and lifestyle needs.

From personal care, domestic assistance and meal preparation to community nursing, home based respite and transportation, the flexibility of HomeCare assistance means that as needs change so too can the type of assistance provided.

Available to all members of the community our service include:

You can receive RSL HomeCare through referral by a medical practitioner or self referral. Costs vary depending on each individual's eligibility for government funded programs. These services usually require a minimal co-payment, however if clients are financially disadvantaged, co-payments may be reduced or waived. Those who don't meet the eligibility criteria are still able to obtain HomeCare services on a fee-for-service basis.
