The development of the new Sunset Ridge Retirement Community at Emu Park is a joint venture between RSL Care and the Capricorn Division of the Queensland Country Women's Association (QCWA). It comprises both a residential care facility and a retirement village.
The development will include approximately 150 independent living units. Special features include: security screens, open plan kitchen with quality stainless steel appliances, reverse cycle air-conditioning, private patio, remote-control garage, level design with no stairs and an emergency 24-hour call system. There will be a range of villas designs, floor plans and some scope to personalise the finishes.
Resort-style facilities including a pool complex with heated spa, BBQ area, auditorium, billiards room, library and hairdresser.
Master planned with a capacity for 90 beds, the first stage will accommodate 45 beds so that the existing QCWA Sunset Lodge can be relocated to the new site. Additional beds will be constructed subject to demand and the allocation of bed licenses. QCWA will continue to operate their existing facility until the new facility is ready and they can relocate to the new site.
At-home assistance including community nursing, personal care, home-based respite, domestic assistance and home visiting will be available to village residents (For more information about HomeCare phone 1300 796 111).
Sunset Ridge will be perfectly positioned to capture the surrounding natural beauty and extensive range of local recreational facilities. The community will be located in a landscaped, environmentally sensitive and secure campus at Svensen Road, Emu Park.
