Operated by RSL Care, Farnorha Retirement Community provides residential care facility with 20 high care, 40 low care and 10 special care places, as well as providing HomeCare and respite services.
KEY FEATURES OF THE COMMUNITY
High care cottage:
The high care cottage is available for residents requiring a higher level of care. Care staff are on duty 24 hours per day.
Each room offers:
- Single accommodation
- Private ensuite
- Emergency call system
- Over bed lighting
- Ceiling fans and air conditioning
- Television aerial connection
Low care accommodation:
Available for residents requiring a low level of care, the facility provides suites with private outdoor areas, and shared kitchen, furnished lounge room and TV area. 24 hour care is provided to meet individual needs.
Each private suite is furnished with:

- Side table
- Built in wardrobe
- Unit for TV/bar fridge
- Emergency call system
- En-suite
- Ceiling fan
- Heater

Special care:
Special care is provided for residents suffering from dementia related conditions. Special care Cottage is a secure environment with a private garden and covered verandah, well quipped kitchen, dining room, furnished lounge and TV room. Each private room is furnished with the following:

Respite accommodation:
Short term respite accommodation is provided for both high and low care clients and is available to give carers time out to enjoy a short break.
HomeCare:
RSL HomeCare is all about supporting independence, helping people stay at home and in their community for as long as possible.
Our team of community nurses, trained carers and volunteers work with clients and their families to design and deliver tailored assistance packages that meet each client's health and lifestyle needs.
From personal care, domestic assistance and meal preparation, to community nursing, home based respite and transportation, the flexibility of HomeCare assistance means that as needs change so too can the type of assistance provided.

- Home visits and social support
- Home safety
- Transitional care
To receive RSL HomeCare through referral by a medical practitioner or self referral. Costs vary depending on each individual's eligibility for government funded programs. These services usually require a minimal copayment, however if clients are financially disadvantaged, copayments may be reduced or waived. Those who don't meet the eligibility criteria are still able to obtain HomeCare services on a fee-for-service basis.
