RSL Care's new Tantula Rise Retirement Community at Alexandra Headland, located in the heart of Queensland's beautiful Sunshine Coast, is one of Australia's most sought after regions for retirement living.
Alexandra Headlands offers the best of both worlds with its small town charm and quick and easy access to the Sunshine Coast region's world class tourism, leisure and cultural facilities, restaurants, clubs, galleries, homemade and fresh produce markets and specialty shops.
The Sunshine Coast comes with all the advantages of capital city living such as hospitals, shopping malls, airports and a motorway system but none of the stress associated with big city lifestyles.
The Tantula Rise Retirement Community is located on the beach side of the Sunshine Coast Motorway. The prime 4.2 hectare site sits high on a ridge that captures ocean breezes and sweeping views over Maroochydore to the north.
Unlike existing RSL Care retirement communities, Tantula Rise is our first multi-level apartment style village and residential care facility. It is master planned to accommodate a 120 bed residential care facility and a separate 40 apartment retirement complex.
The first stage residential care facility opened in August 2005 and provides low, high and special care accommodation for 60 residents.
Stage two, a modern three level complex with 40 contemporary style two-bedroom apartments was completed in May 2006.
Stage three, a modern two level residential care wing providing 60 new single suites will be available from August 2007. This new wing will also see the introduction of a brand new service option for high care residents, RSL Care Premium - extra services. It will provide residents with premium accommodation facilities, extended hotel-style services and entertainment options with the same high quality care all RSL Care residents enjoy.

Retirement Apartments:
Tantula Rise differs from most retirement villages, in that it offers retirees a new style of living - a modern residential apartment lifestyle.
With a contemporary beach style exterior and a boutique hotel-style foyer, Tantula Rise offers stylish two bedroom apartments with the following inclusions:

For maximum security and privacy all apartments have video monitors and a key pad entry system so residents can identify their visitors before permitting entry.

Designed for low, high and special care needs the initial 60-bed residential care facility is among Queenslands's most high-tech and best equipped. Planned for optimum comfort, the facility features modern single occupancy rooms with reverse-cycle-air-conditioning and ensuite.
The communal kitchen, lounge and dining areas are spacious and well equiped. The beautiful landscaped gardens are perfect for a leisurely stroll. The tropical rainforest provides a haven for birdlife and a calming outlook.
While the physical and social features of RSL Care's residential communities are important, many find comfort in knowing that our facilities meet strict standards and are government accredited.
Residents can also be assured that our team of special nurses, personal carers and therapy staff will deliver the highest standard of genuine, individualised care.
Like all RSL facilities, access to residential care is subject to assessment by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT), room availability and payment of fees appropriate to your financial circumstances.

HomeCare:
RSL HomeCare is all about supporting independence, helping people stay at home in their community for as long as possible.
Our team of community nurses, trained carers and volunteers work with clients and their families to design and deliver tailored assistance package that meet each client's health and lifestyle needs.
From personal care, domestic assistance and meal preparation to community nursing, home based respite and transportation, the flexibility of Home Care assistance means that as needs change so too can the type of assistance provided.

You can receive RSL HomeCare through referral made by a medical practitioner or self referral. Costs vary depending on each individual's eligibility for government funded programs. These services usually require a minimal co-payment, however if clients are financially disadvantaged, co-payments may be reduced or waived. Those who don't meet the eligibility criteria are still able to obtain HomeCare services on a fee-for-service basis.
