Home Care: Government Funded Programs

Community Aged Care Packages

A community aged care package provides planned and coordinated care for frail, older people who prefer to remain living in the community and are approved by the Aged Care Assessment Team. The level of individual care is determined after a comprehensive assessment of the client and their needs. These people have complex care needs and have been identified as needing multiple services to stay at home. The Commonwealth Government funds Community Aged Care Packages. The Coordinator will assess the clients needs and discuss the most suitable package of care.

There is a client contribution of 17.5% of a full aged pension to help meet the cost of providing the specialised care you need. Consideration is made for financial hardship.
