Residential Care

RSL Care’s range of residential care services are located within our retirement communities and provided in 24 locations throughout Queensland and New South Wales. Residential care is an essential component of RSL Care’s continuum of care.

Our residential care services are staffed by a team of professional nursing, personal care and therapy specialists who encourage a caring and friendly environment.  Residents enjoy regular activities and are encouraged to remain as active and with social contacts as much as possible.

Our residential care services are accessible at a range of entry points with access subject to Aged Care and Assessment Team (ACAT) and room availability. Fee payment is appropriate to financial circumstances.

RSL Care supports ‘ageing in place’. As our resident’s needs change, we make every effort to help them access higher levels of care within the same Community.

RSL Care’s range of care services are as follows:

Low Care
Low care (hostel accommodation) is provided for people with varying care needs but who are still able to function independently in many areas. Low care hostels are appreciated by those with limited mobility or in need of greater access to personal and nursing care than those living at home. 

RSL Care’s low care accommodation typically features single rooms with ensuites, furniture fittings, an emergency call system, access to shared facilities such as kitchen, lounge and dining room, TV and outdoor areas.  Facilities are staffed by a team of specialist nursing, personal care and therapy personnel.

High Care
High care (nursing home) is provided for people requiring a higher level of complex care and have specialist needs.  Examples of these needs could include medication management, continence care and wound care.

Care is provided by our teams of trained and qualified staff, in a caring and nurturing environment. RSL Care’s high care accommodation typically features single rooms with ensuites, furniture fittings, an emergency call system, access to shared facilities such as kitchen, lounge and dining room, TV and outdoor areas.  Some complexes cater for couples with shared rooms.

Resident activities are organised to enhance residents' lifestyle and assist them to maintain social and recreational activities.

Extra Service
Extra Service provides residents with enhanced accommodation, dining and personal services with the same quality care for which RSL Care is renowned.  Extra Service promotes choice by giving residents the option to pay for additional services.  These services are typically around activities, ‘hotel’ services and menu choices.

Dementia Care
Our secure dementia care wings are specifically designed and staffed to enhance the quality of life and safety for residents with dementia related conditions.  Residents are provided a specialised high level of care, accommodation and activities in a secure and peaceful environment.

Respite Care
Short term respite accommodation is available for both low and high care clients, providing relief to full time carers, allowing them time out to enjoy a short break.

Additional Support Services
A range of  services are available including: community education programs, Parkinson’s support group, stroke support services, falls prevention group, tai chi and a variety of recreational activities tailored to meet clients’ needs including craft, cooking bingo, reading, board games and discussion groups.
