Supporting your independence at home
RSL HomeCare provides a broad range of services to help people remain independent in their own home. Services are designed to meet the social, health and lifestyle needs of you or your loved one and include personal care, domestic assistance, transportation and meal preparation to community nursing, home-based respite, home visiting and social support.
Our team of professional community nurses, trained staff and volunteers work with you and your family to assess care needs and tailor the most suitable combination of services.

Who can receive RSL HomeCare?
All members of the community are eligible for assessment to receive RSL HomeCare, which is funded through a number of Federal and State Government agencies and programs. Specific assistance programs are also offered to veterans and their dependants.
HomeCare Services
RSL HomeCare services can be utilised for short-term or ongoing care option. Our funded programs include:
Community Aged Care Packages
Offer a range of services including personal care, shopping, cleaning, meal preparation and transport.
Extended Aged Care at Home (high care packages)
Services include personal care, nursing and allied health services, meal preparation, respite, transport and assistance with specialised equipment.
Extended Aged Care at Home (Dementia - high care packages)
Program offers a range of services that are specific to people with Dementia and their carers.
Home and Community Care
Basic services providing assistance with: respite care, personal care, domestic assistance, social support, transport, allied health and centre based day care.
Day Therapy Centres
Day Therapy provides flexible, rehabilitation and recreational therapies to RSL Care’s residents and members of the broader community who are not residing in one of our retirement communities and who receive the aged, disability or service pension. In consultation with clients, an optimum combination of services is formulated including: Day Respite, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Diversional Therapy, Podiatry and Registered Nurse Speech Pathology Activity programs.
National Respite for Carers (Working Carers Program)
Provides support to working carers of people with Dementia and challenging behaviours.
RSL HomeCare services available to eligible veterans
DVA Community Nursing
- Provides a full range of nursing activities such as health screening and assessment, personal care, medication, continence, diabetes and wound management.
Home Front Program
- Focuses on the prevention of accidents and falls in the home.
Veteran’s HomeCare (Assessment and Coordination)
- Through this service, eligible veterans are able to access home care through all branches.

Veteran’s HomeCare Services
- Provides basic services to eligible Veterans, including domestic assistance, respite care, home and garden maintenance.
Services are provided from locations throughout Queensland and New South Wales; not all services are provided in all areas.
All HomeCare service types are also available through 'Lifestyle Options', RSL Care's fee for service options.

Referrals can also be made through family and friends, a medical practitioner, community health service, community or church group, Aged Care Assessment Teams or through your local RSL sub branch.
